Where Does Louisiana Compare to Other States?
The Pelican State ranked 37th nationally when it comes to divorce rates, tying with Georgia, New Jersey and New York.
Louisiana had a lower rate than neighboring states, such as Arkansas (3.6) and Mississippi (3.3), while Texas had a slightly lower divorce rate, at 1.4 (ranking 44th nationally by that metric).
Overall, Nevada (4.2), Oklahoma (3.8), Wyoming (3.7), Alabama, and Arkansas (3.6 apiece) ranked atop the list when it comes to highest divorce rates.
On the flip side, Kansas (1.9), Maryland (1.6), Texas (1.4), Illinois (1.3), and Massachusetts (1.0) had the lowest rates in America, proving that love might still be alive and well in certain parts of the country.
